Mission Statement:
To promote the multi-disciplinary process in fostering an abuse-free society for Alabama’s children and support the development of the Children’s Advocacy Center model through public awareness, training and collaborative partnerships.
Brag Lines:
The Child Advocacy Centers are in a unique league of their own. Children’s Advocacy Centers are the only agencies solely dedicated to coordinating every aspect of the response to child abuse — and we do it all under one roof, at no cost to families. From specialized forensic interviews to trauma-informed counseling and medical referrals, CACs ensure that children receive the care, support, and justice they deserve.
Background Info on Non-Profit:
Children’s Advocacy Centers were born in Alabama—and today, that bold idea has become a global movement. What started as one center committed to putting children first in the justice system has grown into a network of over 1,000 centers across more than 41 countries.
Lynn Scott, Executive Director
“When I see children walk through our doors—hurt, ashamed and afraid to speak about the trauma they’ve experienced—it breaks my heart. But when I see those same children after receiving the trauma-informed counseling and care they need—smiling, confident and ready to face the world—I’m reminded why I support this work.”
