central inc champions of change-Tukabatchee Area Council , Boy Scouts of America

Mission:

To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Background:

Our local organization was incorporated in 1941 and operated previously as the Montgomery Council and Montgomery Area Council, serving youth since 1919. The Tukabatchee Area Council serves thousands of youth and their families in 14 central Alabama counties. From elementary school to college, Boy Scouts of America programs instill knowledge and confidence in youth by providing the skills needed not just to succeed but to excel.

Organization Wish List:

We want to reconnect to Scouting, Venturing and Career Exploring alumni in the River Region. Alumni, please reach out to us, as we want to involve you in some exciting alumni events in the months to come. Additionally, we welcome the community’s contribution dollars for our fundraising events and our annual Friends of Scouting campaign. We also want any youth in the River Region interested in a BSA program to have that opportunity.

Rodney Cousin, Executive Director

“The Boy Scouts of America operates under a charter issued by the United States Congress and has done so since 1916. Our work is vital so that young people will learn to be productive citizens, enhance their leadership skills and make good choices over their lifetimes because of their Scouting experiences. To see young people grow and become confident leaders in their respective communities is the most fulfilling part of my job.”
