Mission:
Serving youth through a caring, therapeutic environment where hurts are healed and hope is nurtured.
Background:
Brantwood Children’s Home was founded in 1917 by the Federation of Women’s Club to care for children whose mothers were incarcerated and fathers were at war. Since that time, Brantwood has become a home for Alabama’s most vulnerable, disadvantaged youth. We foster boys and girls ages 10-20 years old that have been removed from their homes by the Department of Human Resources.

“The impact we make can change lives and have an impact on the next generation. I have witnessed so many youth overcome their trauma and go out and be healthy, happy adults. I love when we can make a kid feel safe and loved. You can see it in their smile when they feel happy and safe, when you see their confidence begin to break through the fear and doubt they once had. The most rewarding and fulfilling aspect is just seeing the kids happy and on their way to becoming happy and successful adults.”
