Background:

Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) was established in 1858 and provides  comprehensive education an rehabilitation services throughout Alabama to over 31,000 infants, children, adults and seniors annually, who are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind or multidisabled. Programs include Alabama School for the Deaf, Alabama School for the Blind, Helen Keller School of Alabama, Alabama FreedomCenter for the Blind, E. H. Gentry Facility and Alabama Industries for the Blind.

BRAG LINES:

A statewide network of regional centers provides early intervention for infants and children, an interpreter, counseling, technology and education services for adults and seniors. Whether by educational development for young children, training for families or adjustment and support for adults, regional center service are available where people need it the most—in their home communities.
